immersion

The best of memories can make reality feel so surreal. I'm delving in them for a bit, and already my day-to-day life feels so much less existent to me than the days I'm recalling. I guess it's that life right now doesn't hold as much...meaning as it used to.

I am... not happy.

Photo belongs to nutnut, whom I truly miss too much.

$

There are many types of money. I'm not talking about currency - that would be a redundant statement - but about the kinds of money.

There's old money, heavy and creased and valuable for its history.

There's new money, crisp and unlined and full of promise for all it will buy you.

There's even plastic money, uber-convenient and uber-sophisticated to carry around.

But what I've really learnt is that there is one kind of money that beats out all the others - and it is known as My money. Yes, the best kind of money in the world is Mine, not Yours.

- adapted from my favourite source of inspiration, a Terry Pratchett book.

spirals

There is, I suppose, a sense of inevitable danger rising up somewhere inside... but as long as it stays far enough away, I can calm myself and believe it to be false.
If some semblance of clarity on the matter can be attained, I would gladly give up half my mind. But then again, losing half my mind is unlikely to help anything related to understanding...

Gah. Tak tahan aku.

souvenir

This is Ai-chan, from Japan.

Ai-chan was given to me by a friend of whom I see too little nowadays.

I reckon Ai-chan looks a lot like me - or at least how I will look when I finally visit Japan and try on a kimono (or, if that's impossible, a yukata. I'm not fussy about it).

Ai-chan is round like me, has short hair like mine and has a squinty-eyed smile like I do (unlike me, though, Ai-chan is rather cute and actually looks good in pink).

Ai-chan sits on my desk every day, as a reminder of the country I want most to visit.

And when I do, I'll bring Ai-chan with me so she can visit her homeland.

Because colourful things make me happy, even if monochromatic things make me happier.

See Ai-chan peeking out from behind the
highlighters? Next post'll be about her :D

eye candy!

Absolutely loved these. They look and taste great! :D
We had a great time collecting stuff, didn't we Sabs?

I wonder if anyone besides Sabs'd
know why I called 'em eye candy.
